While the roots of Bank of Lumber City stretch back to the late 1800s, the current incarnation opened its doors in our historic building in Lumber City in 1945. The bank served the early pioneers of our area including steamboat owners, railroad employees, and lumber mill workers who helped to develop Lumber City and Telfair County into a booming industrial region. After the Great Depression, the bank property changed ownership and, in 1945, became Bank of Lumber City.
